Doudelyne is 22 and lives in Robilard, a town near Grison-Garde, located 5 miles away from New Hope Hospital. She is the oldest of a family of seven children. Her time in high school was interrupted she left Haiti with her boyfriend to go to Santo Domingo in search of a better life.

While in Dominican Republic, she had a little girl, who is currently three years old. But life in Dominican Republic was not all that she had hoped for,  so Doudelyne came back to Haiti and her and her boyfriend settled with her mother in Robilard.

In March 2020, Doudelyne arrived at New Hope Hospital in labor. Due to her previous birth, she needed to have a c-section performed.

Her boyfriend saw the amount of medication Doudelyne needed and knew he would not have been able to pay the basic costs. So he left Doudelyne to her fate.

A c-section was performed to save her baby boy. New Hope Hospital has taken care of everything for her (food, medicine, laboratory, doctors, anesthesist, oxygen and hospital costs including her transportation back home).

Today, Doudelyne’s little boy is nine months old and is in good health. She has not heard from her boyfriend since he left her at the hospital, and she now stays with her mother.

Doudelyne is one of many patients to have benefited from the help of New Hope Hospital. She is happy and proud to have this hospital in the area because she could have died for lack of money and care.

We feel called at new Hope Hospital that we cannot refuse care to the needy who come to us for help. However, we do not have sufficient means to do this on our own. We need your help.

New Hope Hospital wishes to continue to help more patients like Doudelyne. These patients have no where else to turn for medical care, and it is through your generosity we can offer them such excellent care.
